To help those in need. Through these efforts, pennsylvania's communities receive more than 239 million in direct service each year. Pacc members are among the most active colleges and universities in the country in promoting civic and community engagement. In a recent survey, 100% of pacc member campuses said their strategic plans support community engagement, compared with 88% nationally. In addition, 44% have earned the carnegie community engagement classification, compared with 36% nationally. In 2015 40% of our member campuses responded to the survey indicating the nature of institutional commitment to civic and community engagement through student involvement, infrastructure to support engagement for faculty, the breadth and depth of institutional commitment with regards to presidential involvement, community-based learning, community partnerships, alumni involvement, and alignment with strategic goals. Accomplishments: based on our response rate of 47%, two-thirds of our campuses are private, liberal arts institutions. For pennsylvania, 21 of our institutions have attained the carnegie classification for community engagement. Among the institutions who responded to the survey, the percentage of students involved in both curricular and co-curricular service is 3,315 with 63% of students involved across these institutions for 10.5 million hours. The top issues addressed through service are civil and human rights, college readiness in k-12 education, hunger and food insecurity, poverty, multi- culturalism and diversity, mentoring and tutoring, and environmental and sustainability. Civic & community engagement in institutional strategic plans reflect that 100% of those reported that institutional mission/purpose statement drives policies supporting curricular & co- curricular community engagement as well as being included in the institution's strategic plans which addressed leadership development, civic learning, education for global citizenship, and civic engagement. More specifically these outcomes tended to focus on critical thinking, written communication, civic or democratic learning, local, global, and intercultural knowledge and multicultural competence. Presidential involvement in pa spans at least at 80% or more by publicly promoting service/community engagement, and providing fiscal support for community- based work. Professional development & capacity building: pacc members have access to a host of hands-on professional development opportunities to increase campus capacity and program effectiveness. These range from national, regional, and statewide conferences to local workshops in key areas such as: -service-learning theory, practice, and impact -engaged department initiatives -effective community-based research -student leadership development -partnership planning and management -measuring and communicating impact -advocacy/policy development

Readiness and success), healthy futures (nutritious food access and education and access to health care), economic opportunity (job readiness and success and housing), and comprehensive support services for veterans and military families. In 2017-2018 paccvista members mobilized 3,033 student and community volunteers, who in turn provided 79,520 hours of voluntary services to those in need. Paccvista members served 5,265 disadvantaged youth, as well as 240 veterans and active duty military members and their families. Additionally, paccvista members raised 511,005 (in cash and in-kind) to support community programs.

Financial Statement Notes

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

Pennsylvania campus compact is a non-profit organization which is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. The standards require an assessment of the organization's exposure to income taxes at the entity level as a result of uncertain tax positions taken in current and previously filed tax returns. Examples of tax positions taken at the entity level include the continuing validity of its 501(c)(3) status, potential unrelated business activities and other tax positions that could result in income taxes to the organization upon examinations by taxing authorities. Any tax benefits associated with uncertain tax positions that are in excess of a realization threshold would be recorded as a liability for unrecognized tax benefits in the financial statements, along with any associated interest and penalties. Presently, management believes that it is more likely than not that its tax positions will be sustained upon examination, including any appeals and litigation, and therefore believes that the organization has no exposure to the income taxes from uncertain tax positions.

IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0PENNSYLVANIA CAMPUS COMPACT IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION WHICH IS EXEMPT FROM FEDERAL INCOME TAXES UNDER SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE.
