“In fy24-25, pennsylvania women work saw a record-breaking year of impact. Across all our programs, we served more than 1,900 clients, a nearly 25% increase from the number served in the previous year. Our refugee and immigrant services for employment (rise) program supported 226 new americans with work authorization on their journey to career and personal success. In october 2024, we expanded our efforts to better serve those recovering from substance use disorder through our rework program. Now partnering with six recovery centers across allegheny county, our team is working individually with those in recovery to support their transition as they re-enter the workforce with trauma-informed career development curriculum and care. This program reached more than 250 individuals in its first year.”

“Pa women work's core portfolio of programs include: new choices - our flagship job-readiness class. Participants learn interview techniques, critical job search skills, and how to create an effective resume. 3 cups of coffee - a short-term mentoring program that connects job seekers with skilled volunteers in a similar field to gain industry advice and strengthen their professional network. Rework - an extension of new choices designed for individuals with a history of substance abuse and/or incarceration. Rework programming is offered on-site at partner sites. Rise - a workforce development program designed for work-authorized immigrants and refugees. Rise helps new americans overcome barriers to obtaining meaningful and family-sustaining employment. Additionally, we offer ongoing career development workshops and events, which include: communicating for success - a workshop designed to build critical communication, problem-solving, and conflict management skills transferable to any job. Graduates earn an industry-recognized certificate to add to their resume. Empowerment in the workplace - a new course designed to promote economic mobility by helping women build the leadership skills that empower them to climb the career ladder. Career kickstart- a one-day workshop, offered primarily in rural communities, that provides job search assistance for people who need immediate and short-term support in landing a job. Power up connections - a "speed networking" event connecting job-seeking clients and representatives from local corporations and training providers. This event is offered twice annually at partner sites around the region. Mock it 'til you rock it- an in-person event which allows clients to practice critical interview skills with trained volunteers who provide guidance and feedback.”
