Mission

The pennsylvania association of community health centers (pachc) is a non- profit association that supports pennsylvania's community health centers in improving health equity and access to affordable high-quality care. It accomplishes this by supporting community health centers (fqhcs and look-alikes), rural health clinics and other primary healthcare providers who serve vulnerable populations in rural and urban areas of the commonwealth and through policy and data analysis, education and strategic partnership and collaboration.

The pennsylvania association of community health centers is an association established to preserve and promote the viability of community based health care centers with consumer boards whose mission is service to vulnerable populations and communities.

Pachc serves as the primary care association for pennsylvania, supporting federally qualified health centers (fqhcs), look-alike fqhcs, rural health clinics (rhcs) and other like-mission primary care providers across the state in improving health and access to quality, affordable primary health care. This includes medical, dental, behavioral, substance use disorder and other healthcare services essential to maintaining and improving health status of individuals and communities, as well as supports like enrollment assistance to gain the security of health insurance coverage, case management, transportation, and more. Pachc accomplishes its goals through provision of education, training, technical assistance, policy analysis, collaboration, communication, resource development and recruitment assistance to more than 475 sites across pennsylvania, that serve more than 1,200,000 patients, 67% of whom have incomes below federal poverty level and 86% with incomes below 200% fpl.

The internal revenue service has recognized the organization as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and, therefore, no provision for income taxes has been made in these consolidated financial statements. The organization is considered a public charity. The organization follows generally accepted accounting principles, which provides guidance on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an organization's consolidated financial statements. The organization's policy is to charge penalties and interest to income tax expense as incurred. The organization's federal and state income returns are subject to examination by the internal revenue service and state tax authorities, generally for a period of three years after the returns are filed.

PACHC ACCOMPLISHES ITS GOALS THROUGH PROVISION OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, POLICY ANALYSIS, COLLABORATION, COMMUNICATION, RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT AND RECRUITMENT ASSISTANCE TO MORE THAN 475 SITES ACROSS PENNSYLVANIA, THAT SERVE MORE THAN 1,200,000 PATIENTS, 67% OF WHOM HAVE INCOMES BELOW FEDERAL POVERTY LEVEL AND 86% WITH INCOMES BELOW 200% FPL.
