“The executive committee shall have the responsibility for the overall functions of the corporation when action is necessary between regular board meetings or in an emergency situation, when a meeting of a board quorum is not possible. When necessary, the executive committee is empowered to take such action as is deemed necessary subject to confirmation by the full board. The executive committee may, when necessary, request the president to authorize one or more employees of the corporation to assist the committee in the performance of its duties. The executive committee shall have the responsibility of developing, monitoring and evaluating any "advisory boards" that may be authorized by the board of directors.”

“The form 990 is prepared by an outside accountant and provided to the director of finance for an initial review. Once any changes are made from the director of finance's review, the form 990 is then provided to the vp of the finance committee for review. Following review by the vp of the finance committee, the form 990 is submitted to the full finance committee of the board and finally a copy is circulated to all board members prior to filing with the internal revenue service.”

“Each officer and director of renewal, inc. ("renewal") completes an annual disclosure form disclosing his or her potential conflicts of interest. Officers and directors must complete this annual disclsoure form to the best of their knowledge and belief. Disclosures are given to the chairperson of renewal and are kept for a period of time. The annual disclosures are made available to all members of the board of directors for the express purpose of determining compliance with this statement.”

“Compensation for all officers and key employees is determined based on a compensation survey of the local market. Salaries were approved by the board chair and executives and the decision is documented.”

“The organization's year end financial statements, annual report, conflict of interest and governing documents can be obtained upon request to the organization.”

“Batterer's intervention program:bip provides intervention as an alternative to incarceration for individuals who receive domestic violence charges. Staff have been trained by the department of corrections and utilizes the duluth model. Once a referral is made, an intake assessment is completed and an individual is assigned to attend group for 12 weeks. Weekly reporting is completed by staff to provide updates on each client from the start date of their program until completion. Case management services are provided by staff and include addressing attendance issues, payment, non-compliance warnings, individual discussions before or after group and completing required documentation.”

“The organization's financial statements are audited by an independent accounting firm. The process involving oversight of the audit of the organization's financial statements and the selection of the independent accountant has not changed from the prior year.”
