Mission

To enrich the lives of older adults in mercer county and enable them to maintain their independence through an array of programs and services.

The mission of the agency is to provide comprehensive social services to the aging population of mercer county. The agency provides various programs and services through the administrative offices, which are located in mercer, pennsylvania. The agency operates a network of senior service centers located in, the shenango valley, greenville, grove city, and sandy lake. The agency's goals include addressing the unmet needs of older adults and families; helping seniors maintain the highest level of independence possible; emphasizing the delivery of preventative health services and the promotion of healthy lifestyles; and, emphasizing access to and delivery of care to older adults of greatest social and economic need.

It is the policy of the agency to require that all members of the board of directors, committees and staff disclose business practices or conduct that could constitute a conflict between their personal interests and the interests of the agency. The agency's executive office regularly monitors and updates the agency's conflict of interest policy, providing the directors with copies at a board meeting. Officers, directors and key employees will update their disclosures annually. Potential conflicts of interest involving directors, officers, members of committees and key employees are identified and addressed in order to assure that the agency is treated fairly in all its business dealings.these statements are reviewed by the full board.

The agency's executive compensation policy is considered reasonable if it is an amount that would ordinarily be paid by similarly situated non-profit organizations under like circumstances. This policy applies to persons who are in a position to exercise substantial influence over the affairs of the agency. Compensation is reviewed and approved, in advance, by the agency's annual budget and finance committee. The committee relies upon appropriate data, such as compensation of other non-profit agencies of a similar size, as to comparability before making its decision. The full board approves the final compensation and benefits package.
