The mission of the belleair country club is to provide each member and his or her family with a premier private golf, recreational and social facility. (continued on schedule o)this is accomplished through a documented quality assurance system that:-involves the membership in setting club priorities and directions;-ensures continuity of officers, policies, plans and programs in the executive team as the board of directors changes; and-encourages and facilitates high levels of competency in the operating team.

“The comptroller reviews in detail the form 990, comparing the amounts to the general ledger and financial statements. She then reports to the treasurer of the finance committee who has the opportunity to review the form 990 and discuss this in the finance committee meeting prior to the filing date of the return. The treasurer of the finance committee then reports to the board of directors during the board meeting regarding the form 990, giving the directors and executive committee the opportunity to discuss and bring up any questions and comments.”

An audit is performed every year by an independent external audit firm. During the course of the audit, the auditor mails out conflict of interest questionnaires to the board, finance committee members and management staff. The auditors review the completed questionnaires, and any conflicts disclosed are reported directly to the finance committee and the board of directors.”

For those benefits to be recognized, a tax position must be more likely than not to be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. There was no material impact on the club's financial position or changes in equity as a result of the application of asc topic 740. The club's policy is to recognize interest and penalties associated with tax positions under this standard as a component of income tax expense, and none were recognized since there was no material impact of the overall application of asc topic 740.”

ACCORDINGLY, WHEN APPLICABLE, A PROVISION FOR FEDERAL AND STATE INCOME TAXES IS PROVIDED. THE CLUB FOLLOWS ASC TOPIC 740, INCOME TAXES. A COMPONENT OF ASC TOPIC 740 PRESCRIBES A RECOGNITION AND MEASUREMENT THRESHOLD FOR TAX POSITIONS TAKEN OR EXPECTED TO BE TAKEN IN A TAX RETURN. FOR THOSE BENEFITS TO BE RECOGNIZED, A TAX POSITION MUST BE MORE LIKELY THAN NOT TO BE SUSTAINED UPON EXAMINATION BY TAXING AUTHORITIES. THERE WAS NO MATERIAL IMPACT ON THE CLUB'S FINANCIAL POSITION OR CHANGES IN EQUITY AS A RESULT OF THE APPLICATION OF ASC TOPIC 740. THE CLUB'S POLICY IS TO RECOGNIZE INTEREST AND PENALTIES ASSOCIATED WITH TAX POSITIONS UNDER THIS STANDARD AS A COMPONENT OF INCOME TAX EXPENSE, AND NONE WERE RECOGNIZED SINCE THERE WAS NO MATERIAL IMPACT OF THE OVERALL APPLICATION OF ASC TOPIC 740. |
