Activity 2

Liberty house provides transitional living services for women and children that are homeless in lycoming county. A comprehensive program providing case management, life skills, counseling, parenting education, employment and budgeting services (to name a few) that allows the participants up to 24 months to transition into stable housing, and achieve self-sufficiency. In fy 2013 liberty house served 40 single women, 22 mothers and 40 children. Liberty house is our transitional living program that is committed to providing a continuum of care that leads homeless women and women with children in lycoming county to self-sufficiency, with the utmost dignity and respect. These individuals must want to make a difference in their lives; our program is not for those who do not want to change. We offer individualized goal setting including various services such as case management, life skills, counseling, parenting education, employment and budgeting (to name a few) to help these individuals reach self-sufficiency. According to the national hud standards, 65% of those leaving transitional living programs move to permanent housing. During fy 2013, excluding clients who self-terminated, 80% of liberty house program participants moved into permanent housing.

Activity 3

Wise options is a safe haven and source of support for the people of lycoming county, giving help and hope to women, men and children surviving domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent crimes. Free and confidential services are provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In fy 2013 wise options served 854 for domestic violence, 96 for sexual assault and 3 for other victims of crime. Wise options is devoted to empowering individuals, redefining the rights of the oppressed and educating communities about peace, justice, freedom, dignity and equality for all. A 24 hour, seven days a week comprehensive victim center, wise options assisted with 324 protection from abuse orders and 2,096 individuals with community education about domestic violence and sexual assault. Wise options also has a 24/7 crisis hotline for intervention and support, provides a 30 day emergency shelter, and hospital accompaniment, crime victim compensation, and emergency safety planning.
