| The First-Sunday Breakfast has been occurring at our community center for the last 65-years. In 2019, 2,316 breakfasts were sold. This generated $20,899 of gross revenue. Also, sales of orange juice and carrot juice grossed another $460. The breakfast is a community tradition. Locals come together to eat breakfast and to celebrate and enjoy their common heritage, history, and culture at a place often referred to as "home away from home". The breakfast is conducted by a 100 percent volunteer workforce, most of whom are active members of FBICC. Breakfast proceeds are used to pay for occupancy and other expenses, such as taxes, insurance, and advertising. The Breakfast is a favorite monthly community event. | - | $8,760 |
| In an effort to encourage people to join as members and to attract activities to the center, FBICC participates with other qualified nonprofits in fundraising at its center. In 2019, FBICC agreed to let Safe Passage Family Resource Center have its annual "Toy Run" fundraiser at its facility free of rent. In return, Safe Passage agreed to let FBICC keep all proceeds from bar and beverage sales if FBICC agreed to organize the bar, stock it with inventory and supplies, and acquire the liquor license. The "Toy Run" has been an annual community event for the last 20 years where motorcycle enthusiasts drive up with toys to donate to needy children and to enjoy dinner, drinks, dancing, and a raffle, which were all organized and operated with Safe Passage volunteers. FBICC conducted its bar and beverage sales with its own volunteers as a show of support for enhancing the activity of another non profit's fundraiser to benefit needy families and their children. Gross proceeds from the bar and beverage sales were $550 for approximately 184 drinks. The bar & beverage sales are excluded as Unrelated Business Income since volunteers conducted the bar for the benefit and enhancement of the Toy Run Fundraiser. | - | $212 |
| The First-Sunday Rummage Sale has been occurring on the first Sunday of each month for about 6-years in the assembly room at the same time as the First-Sunday Breakfast, which occurs in the dining room. All rummage items and books are donated free and clear without any remuneration or benefit to donors. In 2019, sales of rummage and books grossed $4,306. These proceeds at $3,000 are always contributed each year to local student scholarships. Excess rummage sale proceeds are rolled over to pay for occupancy and other expenses such as maintenance and the payment of sales taxes and insurance. The rummage sale is conducted by volunteers and is in keeping with FBICC's exempt purpose by benefiting local students planning to attend the Mendocino Junior College and by maintaining the facilities and grounds for the benefit of community activities. There are no expenses generated by the rummage sale. | - | $0 |
