Additional Explanations

The Mitchell Canyon Visitor Center

There was significant progress towards the construction of a new Education Center in 2024. MDIA authorized Ware Associates to prepare design drawings to 50% by May 2024. MDIA then contracted with an Exhibit design firm in April 2024 to prepare concepts for exhibits. These strategies were successful in winning a grant from the Wildlife Conservation Board in August 2024 for $2.6 million. MDIA then launched a year end fundraising campaign to reach their $1 million in local funding. With $4.6 million in funding secured, MDIA authorized the architects to proceed to 100% design expected to be completed in May 2025. MDIA spent $140,000 on professional design fees in 2024 to accomplish these goals. It is expected that the project will be bid in late 2025 or early 2026

MDIA authorized Ware Associates to prepare design drawings to 50% by May 2024. MDIA then contracted with an Exhibit design firm in April 2024 to prepare concepts for exhibits. These strategies were successful in winning a grant from the Wildlife Conservation Board in August 2024 for $2.6 million. MDIA then launched a year end fundraising campaign to reach their $1 million in local funding. With $4.6 million in funding secured, MDIA authorized the architects to proceed to 100% design expected to be completed in May 2025. MDIA spent $140,000 on professional design fees in 2024 to accomplish these goals. It is expected that the project will be bid in late 2025 or early 2026
