“The purpose of this corporation is to protect human life and property by fighting fires in the city of denison, iowa and the vicinity of crawford county, iowa - also to prevent fires, to assist with emergencies and disasters, and to provide to the community, education in fire prevention, first aid and safety practices.”

“Monthly training meetings which enhance the level of awareness and experience of the volunteers in responding to fires - provide mutual aid for surrounding smaller communities and provide training for those fire depts utilizing the new fire training center facility located in denison, iowa in addition to the firefighter one class provided - annually promote fire prevention week with an open house to educate the community on fire safety - give away smoke detectors, provide newspaper publication inserts on preventing fires and how to be safe if there is a fire, promote awareness in the community with "operation e.d.i.t.h." which means exit drill in the home especially for elementary children and their familiies, local cable channel public service bulletins and programming.”
