The board of directors is composed of six members, elected by two different groups. Three directors are members of troutman fire department, elected by the general membership of the organization. The remaining three directors are elected by the troutman community in an annual meeting. These three directors cannot be members of troutman fire department.

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

The organization is exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Accordingly, no provision for income taxes has been made in the financial statements. Donations to the organization qualify as charitable contributions for income tax purposes. The organization believes that it has appropriate support for any tax positions taken, as such does not have any uncertain tax positions that are material to the financial statements. Further, no interest or penalties have been accrued or charged to expense as of june 30, 2014 and 2013 or for the years then ended. The organizations federal return of organization exempt from income tax (form 990) for 2010 through 2013 are subject to examination by the irs, generally for three years after they were filed.
