Mission

PUBLISHING PROFESSIONALS NETWORK is a nonprofit association providing educational resources and opportunities for all individuals involved in book and book-related publishing. Founded as Bookbuilders West in 1969, it was rechartered as PPN in 2012 to reflect the changing nature of long-form content publishing and embrace all the partnerships that exist within our industry.

Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
Publishing Professionals Network, a nonprofit association founded in San Francisco in 1969 under the original name of Bookbuilders West, promotes and supports book publishing in the thirteen Western states.Since 1970, awards for outstanding book design, production, and manufacturing have been presented at the Publishing Professionals Network Book Show, in January. The entrants are publishers and suppliers who do business in the Western States, and the judges are experienced in design, production, or related areas. The Publishing Professionals Network Book Show is one of the largest and most prestigious events of its kind in the United States. Following an exhibit of all entries, winning entries are announced and awards presented at a gala event.Books that receive awards are showcased in the annual catalog, which is distributed to attendees at the Book Show & Awards Event. Entry deadline is in the spring, awards are announced in the winter.--
Current Educational ProgramsWe offer a range of education programs to our members and non-members. Most programs are held in the Bay Area. Individual events and details regarding registration are listed on the organization's website at www.pubpronetwork.org.--
