“HKCF acts to save historic resources threatened with demolition or inappropriate changes through its Advocay Programs. In 2013, staff attended approximately 12 public hearings, and testified at approximately 6. Staff attended approximately 20 community and stakeholder meetings, and participated in all. Staff was actively involved in 3 grassroots advocacy campaigns to save historic buildings threatened with demolition as well advocacy work to protect a historic neighborhood that is threatened.”

“The Organizations Outreach and Education Program demonstrates the economic and cultural benefits of historic preservation and creates an appreciation for our unique built environment. In 2013 we conducted approximately 15 walking tours, 10 Speakers Bureau presentations, 14 Heritage Hikes, had 3 Young Preservationists Forum meetings and published 6 e-newsletters. We also held Preservation Awards 100 attendees and an Annual Meeting 100 attendees. Other special events include 4 Urban Explorers Tours 200 total attendance 2 Martini Modern parties 150 total attendance, a Most Endangered Trolley Tour 80 attendees, and a Historic Home Tour 30 attendees. Staff also made approximately 4 presentations to various groups about current preservation issues.”
