“As of December 31, 2024, INSAF had 201 members across the United States.”

“INSAF's governing Board Members need to be INSAF members and sponsors or cosponsors of one or more INSAF projects. Any person who meets those two qualifications may volunteer to serve on the INSAF Board. The INSAF constitution provides for the ability to recall a Board Member. If there are more volunteers than positions on the Board at the time each Board term starts, INSAF members have a right to vote for the candidate(s) of their choice.”

“INSAF members have the option to choose which project(s) the member wishes to fund with their donation and also have the option of not funding any project at all in any given year. INSAF members may recall a Board member by following the procedure laid out in the constitution. If there are more volunteers than the positions on the Board at the time when a new Board-term is to begin, INSAF members have the right to vote for their preferred candidate(s). Any changes to the INSAF constitution require a two-thirds majority vote by the INSAF membership.”

“1. The Financial Statements Income and Expenditure Statements, Balance Sheet, and other associated data for the fiscal year are prepared by the INSAF Vice President- Finance. 2. These financials are then audited and reviewed by two INSAF volunteer auditors and the financials are finalized. 3. Draft Form 990 and its associated Schedules are then prepared by INSAF volunteers. 4. The draft Form 990 and its associated schedules were then sent to each INSAF Board Member for review and comments. 5. The tax return is finalized after incorporating any comments from the INSAF Board Members. 6. The final tax return is e-filed with the IRS after final approval signatures by the INSAF President.”

“The INSAF conflict of interest policy is posted on the INSAF website. The Board members are reminded annually about the conflict of interest policy.”

“The INSAF constitution, conflict of interest policy, Form 990 for the INSAF Tax Return for the latest complete fiscal year, are posted on the INSAF website. The first issue in each calendar year of the INSAF Newsletter publishes the annual financial summary for the last fiscal year, and has done so for the past 44 years. The INSAF Newsletter containing the financial summary is uploaded to the INSAF web site and is available to the public and the INSAF membership. Past Newsletters containing earlier financial summaries are also available on the INSAF website for the past 20 years.”
