Global health action (gha) expanded the gha health equity internship program to south asia and to east asia and the pacific. This virtual global health internship program provides global health students and early career professionals across a range of disciplines with practical skills, fosters their personal and professional growth, and allows them to individually and collectively contribute to ghas mission of improving global health outcomes. The internship program provides a rich learning experience for 3 cohorts each year, equipping interns with critical competencies for their careers in global health.

Part iii, line 4b - second accomplishmentcommunity capacity buildinga.organizational & leadership development: gha provided a co-creation capacity building program that provided direct training, technical assistance and coaching in leadership, management, governance, and grant funding for program development for civil society organizations in kenya, engaging 98 organizational leaders in sub-saharan africa.b.networks: gha continued to strengthen the development and capacity of the gha east africa network of 9 local civil society organizations/government divisions/health facility organizations for collaborative programming to address immediate and emergent local challenges. Part iii, line 4b - second accomplishment continueda total of 20 partnering organizations were additionally engaged around the issues relevant to emerging health needs in the communities represented.c.community activities:the co-creation grant program in kenya facilitated the following outcomes: 89,953 people positively impacted through programming in the following areas: sexual and reproductive health; maternal, child and adolescent health; nutrition and food insecurity; psychosocial support; and water, sanitation, and hygiene. Ghas co-creation capacity building project in india conducted an educational workshop for adult women on menopause management with 19 community leaders, hosted two menstrual health hygiene and gender sensitivity art events that included 95 adolescent boy and girl artist and yielded 295 participants, and held a two-day leadership capacity and health systems strengthening meetings with leaders from 14 non-governmental organizations (ngos). The ngo leaders meeting resulted in commitments from the organizations to provide additional menstrual health and hygiene and/or menopause management education to an additional 2,035 adolescent girls, 880 adult women and 50 parents. Part iii, line 4b - third accomplishment3.global health policy & leadership ghas health equity internship program expanded to south asia and east asia and the pacific. Through virtual weekly meetings, one-on-one engagement with professional coaches, mentorship sessions, and individually assigned projects, the interns:gained education on global health concepts and activitiesimproved their presentation & communication skillsstrengthened research skills andexpanded their professional networks b.young leaders council (ylc): ghas young leaders council, a virtual platform that allows global/public health early career professionals, students, and individual interested in global/public health, enrolled 3 new members from the united states increasing the total active membership to seven, representing the united states, the middle east, and central america and the caribbean. ALTOGETHER, THESE TBAS ATTENDED 464 LIVE BIRTHS, MADE 213 REFERRALS TO HEALTH CENTERS FOR PREGNANT WOMEN WITH HIGHER RISK FOR COMPLICATIONS, AND CONDUCTED 1,421 POSTNATAL HOME VISITS TO HELP MOTHERS AND NEWBORNS START HEALTHIER LIVES TOGETHER.

THE NGO LEADERS MEETING RESULTED IN COMMITMENTS FROM THE ORGANIZATIONS TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL MENSTRUAL HEALTH AND HYGIENE AND/OR MENOPAUSE MANAGEMENT EDUCATION TO AN ADDITIONAL 2,035 ADOLESCENT GIRLS, 880 ADULT WOMEN AND 50 PARENTS.
