The organization is comprised of members nationwide.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7A

The organization's members have the right to vote in the governing body during the annual national convention. Officer positions and board seats are elected every year. During the odd numbered year, the president, secretary and board seats are fille. During the even years, the first vp, second vp, treasurer and board seats are filled. Voting is managed by an external, independent voting firm. The sitting president does not engage in any voting activities. In addition, non-elected members vounteer and serve all committees including bylawas, finance, investment, personnel, etc.

The intent is for the form 990 to be reviewed by the board and approved prior to issuance. In addition, the form 990 is voted on by the members of the organization during national conference.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Each board and committee member are required to read and sign the conflict of interest policy. They are required to disclose to the organization and personal interest which he or she may have in a matter pending before the organization and shall refrain from participation in any decision on the matter.

The board members of the organization are not compensated. The executive director is responsible for evaluation and salary recommedations of all employees. The personnel committee is responsible for reviewing the executive director's recommendations and presenting the chair their recommendation. The chair will then present to the board for final approval. The compensation of the organization's executive director and key employees are determined by an analysis of like organization performed by the personnel committee. The analysis is then vetted by the finance committee for approval and then to the board for final vote.

NURSES ARE ABLE EARN CES FOR THE SESSIONS THEY ATTEND AND REPORT THESE TO THEIR STATE BOARD OF NURSING FOR LICENSE RENEWAL, USE FOR PROMOTIONS AT THEIR PLACE EMPLOYMENT AND CONTINUE THEIR PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT TO ADVANCE. OUR CONFERENCES ALSO INCLUDE DAILY AM EXERCISES, HEALTHY EATING OPTIONS AND SPONSORED SELF-CARE ROUTINES TO PROMOTE MEMBERS HEALTH AND WELL-BEING. DUE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC THE EVENT WAS HELD VIRTUALLY.

WE AWARD THESE NBNA SCHOLARSHIPS TO PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND TO INVEST IN OUR NEXT GENERATION OF NURSES WHICH IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF OUR MISSION. NBNA HAS STANDING SCHOLARSHIPS AND VET ALL APPLICANTS. BELOW IS A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE REQUIREMENTS. HOWEVER, WE ALSO FOLLOW ANY SPECIFICS AS OUTLINED BY THE FUNDER AS LONG AS THEY MEET OUR REQUIREMENTS. 1. MUST BE A MEMBER OF NBNA AND A MEMBER OF A LOCAL CHAPTER (IF ONE EXISTS IN YOUR AREA). IF A CHAPTER DOES NOT EXIST WITHIN A 50- MILE RADIUS OF YOUR LOCATION YOU MAY JOIN NBNA AS A DIRECT MEMBER. 2. CANDIDATE MUST BE CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN A NURSING PROGRAM (LPN/LVN, ADN, RN-BSN, GENERIC BSN, MASTERS, DOCTORATE) AND IN GOOD SCHOLASTIC STANDING AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.3. APPLICANT MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE FULL YEAR OF SCHOOL REMAINING.THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC REALLY TAUGHT THE WORLD HOW VALUABLE HEALTH CARE WORKERS AND NURSES ARE TO OUR COMMUNITIES.
