“The entire board reviews form 990 for any needed changes and its approval prior to filing. The approval and action of the board are recorded in the minutes of the organization.”

“Board members must annually sign a standard form indicating if they have any conflict of interest that might affect their decision making. Board members must recuse themselves from any votes in which such conflicts may occur. The responsibility of determining conflict rests on the honesty of the indivdiual board members and on the board president to make sure there are no conflicts before discussion or voting on any specific issues. The executive committee also monitors conflicts.”

The financial statement of the organization is published to its members once a year, but is available throughout the year for inspection.
