“Msc does not engage in any transaction which presents a conflict of interest either in fact or in appearance. Per the conflict of interest policy, any actual or potential conflict of interest must be disclosed to the board of directors at a meeting of the full board. The person with the conflict of interest recuses themselves from the decision and vote.”

“The executive director's salary is reviewed by the personnel committee annually. Recommendations for adjustment are based on performance against established goals and comparison of compensation data for similarly qualified persons in comparable positions at similar situated organzations. Such comparisions are generally based on archbright and 501 commons salary surveys of nonprofit organizations in king and snohomish counties. Once the personnel committee has reviewed performance objectives and outcomes, there is an executive session held with the full board of directors at which time the performance review is accepted and any salary adjustments are recommended. The board then adjourns the executive session and reconvenes into a regular meeting and makes the final recommendation which is recorded in the official board minutes. The last conpensation review for multi-service center is january 2023.”

“Food bank volunteers sign up to serve on a data base we oversee, they have a background check conducted by the food bank volunteer coordinator, if successful they are invited to a volunteer orientation that are provided monthly, after that is completed they can schedule to serve volunteer shifts at the food bank that are 4 hours in duration. All hours are documented and then posted in the database. We also provide volunteer opportunities for "groups", individuals doing community service, high school students, and we have a full staff of grocery rescue drivers that also complete volunteer hours weekly. We average about 1550 volunteer hours each month. A comprehensive volunteer report is provided to finance monthly the differentiates each category as well as the overall count for the month. Volunteers do a variety of different tasks that include assisting with food distribution, intake processes, sorting foods, setting the floor, picking up food (grocery rescue), and cleaning as needed.”
