“The organization acquires and organizes information on national aviation achievement. The organizations collections are made up of pictures, books, paintings, papers, scientific data, artifacts and other related materials. The organizations collections, which were acquired through purchases and contributions since the organizations inception, are not recognized as assets in the consolidated statements of financial position. Purchases of collection items are recorded as decrease in unrestricted net assets in the year in which the items were acquired. The organization maintains an archival system for collecting, preserving and organizing the research material and historical information. Activities verifying their existence and assessing their condition are performed continuously. The collections are subject to the policy that requires proceeds from their sales to be used to acquire other items for collections, and are reflected as increases in the appropriate net asset categories. No collection items were deaccessioned in 2024.”
