Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The association is qualified as exempt under section 501c (6) of the internal revenue code. Accordingly, no provision for income taxes has been made in these combined financial statements. Gaap provides guidance for accounting for uncertainty in income taxes by prescribing a recognition threshold and measurement attribute for the combined financial statement recognition and measurement of a tax position taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. It requires that an entity recognize in the combined financial statements the impact of the tax position if that position will more likely than not be sustained on audit, based on the technical merits of the position. During the year ended december 31, 2023, the association performed an evaluation of uncertain tax positions and did not note any matters that would require recognition in the increase in net assets and net asset balance. The association files informational returns in the united states and various states. With few exceptions, the association is no longer subject to u.s. Federal and state income tax examinations by tax authorities for years prior to 2020.
