“Grants - the mission of the Chicago Herpetological Society "CHS" is education, conservation, and the advancement of herpetology. To further the missions, the CHS provides grants of up to $1000 in the following categories: 1. Illinois herpetology; 2. Graduate student research in herpetology; 3. Undergraduate research in herpetology; 4. Conservation; and 5. Captive management, husbandry, and propogation. See attached "Exhibit A" for a list of the 2020 grant recipients.”

“The purpose of the Chicago Herpetological Society shall be: 1. To enhance the education of the members and the general public through the programs of the society; 2. to promote the conservation of all wildlife in general and of herpetofauna in particular, whatever and where ever possible; 3. To achieve a closer cooperation and understanding between amateur and professional herpetologists so they may work together for the common cause of science. Other Program Services: Reptile Adoptions Program - the CHS volunteer members operate an adoption program as a service to the general public and is supported by the membership. The intent of the program is the insure unwanted reptiles and amphibians are placed in the best facilities, public, and private. The related expenses include veterinarian care, housing and food for reptiles until they can be adopted by other reptile enthusiasts.”
