Activity 2

Member Services: 5,800 people attended 262 field trips and classes. Our over 2,500 members receive information and an electronic version of our Warbler Newsletter through email, Facebook, and Twitter notices. The switch to an electronic newsletter in January 2011 was made in order to save resources. Current and back issues of the Warbler are available on our new website unveiled in 2011. Over 70 members attended our annual Fall Member's Dinner and program.

Activity 3

Other Projects and Partnerships: 1. Conservation program: ASGD's Conservation Committee follows legislative activities and watches for projects or proposals that might adversely affect bird populations, other wildlife and habitat. Committee members participate in land-use stakeholder meetings and review construction plans and conservation alternatives. Current projects include the Chatfield Reallocation project and reviewing impacts and measures for mitigation. The Committee hosts an annual Legislative Forum and Advocacy Techniques training.2. Research program: ASGD's more formal research efforts are managed by the Lois Webster Fund (LWF). The LWF sponsors research and educational projects concerning non-game wildlife. Recently funded projects included Northern Black Swift Habitats, Habitat Manipulation Effects on Songbird and Small Mammmal Communities, Pika Volunteer Program, Rock Wren in Northern Colorado, and Mountain Plover for Best Management Practices. 3. Other notable programs include: Audubon Master Birder program, monthly programs and events for all ages at the Audubon Center at Chatfield State Park, adult classes such as Beginning Birdwatching, and the Bluebird Project.The success of these activities is related to ASGD's large volunteer program. In fiscal 2012/13, 368 individual volunteers contributed 8,659 hours of their time to ASGD!
