“The learning disabilities association of georgia, inc. Is a non-profit, tax exempt organization which includes parents, professionals, and individuals with learning disabilities. Ldag is dedicated to identifying causes and promoting prevention of learning disabilities and to enhancing the quality of life for all individuals with learning disabilities and their families by encouraging effective identification and intervention, fostering research, and protecting their rights under the law. The organization shares knowledge, disseminates information, and advocates for individuals with learning disabilities and attention deficit disorder.”

“During 2016, we sponsored the star expo, which is designed as a workshop for families located in the south metro atlanta counties. Along with exhibits from service providers, we included breakout rooms with speakers providing information and fielding the many questions from participants. We also hosted a workshop for industry professionals, parents, adults, service providers, and volunteers to address the need to raise the awareness of learning disabilities in the state of georgia.”

“Georgia continues to be one of the healthy child project recipients during the 2016. In response to this we co-sponsored emails to the ga and national hill. A project to advise our local ga legislators about health related issues and impact our environment has on our children. In order to have a presence and help parents understand the issues around toxicity in our environment, we designed a parent specific booklet that we have been distributing at each workshop and resource fair. Georgia was represented at the stroller brigade in washington dc. And is intending to be involved in the upcoming work with the big box stores.”
