CREATIVE TEACHING INCENTIVES - TEACHER GRANTS FOR EQUIPMENT, BOOKS, TEACHING SUPPLIES NOT PROVIDED BY WCSD TO BENEFIT THE CHILDREN. School musical - 6th grade students auditioned and rehearsed for weeks leading up to 4 in-school performances as well as 2 weekend performances. There were also opportunities for crew participation to make and design sets as well as run lights and sound during all performances.

Student development (slt) - promote reading (25 book club), character education (citizen of the month), math carnival (4th grade students design math-based games for 3rd grade attendees) and supports pbis (positive behavioral intervention system) activities. Creative teaching incentives - teacher grants for equipment, books, teaching supplies not provided by wcsd to benefit the children. Scholastic book fairs - every student was able to attend the book fair with their class as well as provided an opportunity for families to participate in the evenings. Encouraged and promoted reading, also combined with parp in the spring. 6th grade events & picnics - events for the 6th grade to celebrate the end of their elementary school days. Nukem tournament, holiday event, bingo, end of year picnic. Ice cream social - an in-school event to celebrate national ice cream day parp- program run with spring book fair designed to encourage and foster a love of reading. Open to all ~1000 students. Spelling bee - open to 4th, 5th and 6th grade students to promote spelling within the nys ela standards. School store - run by parent volunteers in conjunction with fourth grade students yearbook club - alongside parent and teacher volunteers, the students create a school yearbook for the year. Battle of the books - team reading competition open to grade 4, 5 and 6 students to promote reading within the nys ela standards. Math olympiad - team math competition open to grades 5 and 6 to promote math within the nys math standards. Science olympiad - team science competition open to grades 5 and 6 to promote math within the nys math standards. Emerging adolescence - informational evening held in two sessions for boys and girls- for students in grade 5 & 6. Popsicles on the playground and kindergarten meet & greet - welcome events for new kindergarten families themed history months - bulletin boards created to celebrate different historical months (i.e. Black history month, women's history month, etc.) polar express book day - holiday book reading by school principals. Each student received a bell.
