Additional Explanations

FORM 990, PART I, LINE 1, DESCRIPTION OF ORGANIZATION MISSION:

Lakeside exists to empower youth and families to overcome difficulties and achieve success through quality educational and treatment services.

Form 990, Part XII, Line 2C

The oversight of the audit has not changed from the prior year.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Lakeside is a non-profit organization described in section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code (irc) and is exempt from federal income taxes pursuant to section 501(a) of the irc. Lakeside garage, llc is a disregarded entity for tax purposes. Lakeside is also exempt from the commonwealth of pennsylvania taxation under the applicable provisions of the commonwealth's non-profit organization statutes. Lakeside is annually required to file a return of organization exempt from income tax (form 990) with the irs. In addition, lakeside is subject to income tax on net income that is derived from business activities that are unrelated to their exempt purposes. As a result, lakeside files an exempt organization business income tax return (form 990-t) with the irs to report its unrelated business taxable income. With few exceptions, lakeside is no longer subject to u.s. Federal or state and local income tax examinations by tax authorities for years before 2016. It is difficult to predict the final timing and resolution of any particular uncertain tax position. Management does not currently anticipate significant changes in its uncertain tax positions over the next 12 months.
