Mission

It is the mission of the christopher columbus charter school (cccs) to provide students in grade k-8 with a content-rich, academically rigorous core knowledge education with a well-defined, sequential curriculum in a safe, orderly, disciplined and caring enviornment cccs students will learn to express themselves in at least one international langauge, and will utilize computer technology to support learning in all major subjects and to become literate in the technologies of the 21st century.

The board has time to ask questions at the meeting and, if requested, another 30 days to review. After the board is satisfied, the form 990 is finalized and filed by the independent accounting firm.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The school accounts for uncertainty in income taxes in which tax positions initially need to be recognized in the financial statements when it is more likely than not that the positions will be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. It also provides guidance for derecognition, classification, interest and penalties, accounting in interim periods, disclosure and transition. As of june 30, 2018, the school had no uncertain tax positions that qualified for either recognition or disclosure in the financial statements. Additionally, the school had no interest or penalties related to income taxes. The school files an income tax return in the u.s. Federal jurisdiction.
