TRAINING AREAS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, ECONOMIC AND DIGITAL LITERACY, LEADERSHIP AND EMPOWERMENT, EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION, AND BUSINESS-SPECIFIC SKILLS.OUR PUBLIC ADVOCACY PILLAR FOCUSES ON WCI ADVOCATING AND SUPPORTING ON BEHALF OF GIRLS AND WOMEN AROUND THE WORLD TO BRING ABOUT CHANGE ON A LOCAL, STATE, OR FEDERAL LEVEL. WCI TRAINS WOMEN AND GIRLS IN THE SKILLS THEY NEED TO ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE IN ALL AREAS OF POLITICAL PROCESSES. IN ADDITION, WCI PARTICIPATES IN INTERNATIONAL COALITIONS AND LEGISLATIVE PROCESSES TO ENSURE WE ARE AT THE FOREFRONT OF POLITICAL ISSUES IN THE US AND ABROAD. IN ADDITION, PUBLIC HEALTH TRAINING INCLUDES EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION WORKSHOPS TO ENSURE PARTICIPANTS ARE EQUIPPED WITH THE TOOLSTHEY NEED TO SHARE CRITICAL INFORMATION WITH THEIR COMMUNITIES.OUR INTERNATIONAL RELIEF PILLAR INVOLVES WCI INVESTING IN GIRLS AND WOMEN SURVIVORS OF WAR, CONFLICT, AND NATURAL DISASTERS PROVIDING THEM WITH SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC SUPPORT. PARTICIPANTS ARE ALSO ENCOURAGED TO SHARE THEIR THOUGHTS WITH PROGRAM STAFF THROUGH ONE-ON-ONE INTERVIEWS AFTER PROGRAM SESSIONS.IN ADDITION, PROGRAM ALUMNI HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO CO-LEAD A WORKSHOP ON A TOPIC OF THEIR CHOICE WITH THE HELP OF THE PROGRAM FACILITATOR. CURRENTS GALS ALUMNI HAVE FACILITATED WORKSHOPS ON TOPICS SUCH AS POETRY, DRAWING, MENTAL HEALTH ADVOCACY, GOAL-SETTING, AND THE IMPORTANCE OF SELF-CARE. PROGRAM ALUMNI AND OTHER INTERESTED HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WILL ALSO HAVE THE OPTION OF INTERNING WITH WCI THROUGH ROLES AS SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT CREATORS, PROGRAM CURRICULUM CONSULTANTS, AND MORE.GALS ALUMNI, SPECIFICALLY, HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN WCI'S GALS WORKING GROUP. THE WORKING GROUP MEETS QUARTERLY TO HELP WCI GAIN INSIGHT ABOUT HOW TO BETTER SUPPORT THE NEEDS AND INTERESTS OF CURRENT PARTICIPANTS. THIS INCLUDES PLAYING AN ACTIVE ROLE IN HELPING WCI TO MODIFY OUR CURRICULUM BASED ON THEIR FEEDBACK. MEMEBRS OF THE GALS WORKING GROUP ARE ALSO INVITED TO SPEAK AT WCI'S BOARD MEETINGS AND PLAY AN ACTIVE ROLE IN SELLING GUEST SPEAKERS FOR FUTURE GALS SESSIONS.FURTHER, WCI IS COMMITTED TO WORKING WOTH PROGRAM ALUMNI, IN COORDINATKION WITH EACH PARTNERING SCHOOL, TO DEVELOP AND LAUNCH A PERMANENT ADVOCACY CLUB WITHIN EACH PARTNERING INSTITUTION. ADVOCACY CLUBS WILL CREATE PERMANENT SPACES WITHIN EACH PARTNERING SCHOOL WHERE INTERESTED STUDENTS CAN WORK WITH PROGRAM ALUMNI AND WCI STAFF TO EXPAND UPON AND CONTINUE THEIR ADVOCACY EFFORTS. ALSO, THROUGH ONLINE ALUMNI NETWORKS, WCI WILL CONTINUE TO TRACK THE PROGRESS OF PROGRAM ALUMNI OVER TIME AND CONNECT PAST PARTICIPANTS WITH ONE ANOTHER. WCI HAS ALREADY PARTNERED WITH SWENSON ARTS & TECHNOLOGY HIGH SCHOOL AND SUCCESSFULLY SUPPORTED THE CREATION OF A PUBLIC HEALTH ADVOCACY CLUB.AS HIGHLIGHTED ABOVE, WCI'S ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY WILL MORE EFFECTIVELY UTILIZE BOARD MEMBERS, STAFF, INTERNS, VOLUNTEERS AND YOUTH VOICES AT ALL LEVELS OF THE ORGANIZATION.
