“Augusta University formerly Georgia Regents University Education Program to Increase Colorector Cancer Screen EPICS, contd - National Black Leadership Initiative on Cancer NBLIC partners with churches, clinical providers and community sites to educate African Americans about Colorectal Cancer Screening. EPICS Program Final Evaluation report to EPICS partners in May of 2017. The final results are 491 were reached, 80 were educated and 43 were screened. These results were presented to representatives from NBLIC community partners. The EPICS research program has officially ended.”

“Department of Health, Bureau of Health Promotion and Risk Reduction Healthy Woman Program cont d - on how to keep your breast healthy. Between January through June 2017, 299 women and 11 men were educated about the importance of breast screenings and research. The first community event in June, Community Pink Party, found 3 women, age 29-36, who were not eligible for a mammogram, but received clinical breast exams CBEs by a nurse or Gyn doctor where issues were discovered that needed further evaluation and 1 35 yr old woman, who had a lump in her breast. This individual was referred and navigated to the breast surgeon we partner with.”

“Avon Breast Health Outreach Program contd - 11 individuals went on to get mammograms. Lumps were discovered in 2 women and they were navigated to breast surgeons for further diagnostic exams.”
