EI IS AVAILABLE TO CHILDREN WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DELAYS AND DISABILITIES WHEREVER THE CHILD SPENDS HIS OR HER DAY - AT HOME OR IN DAY CARE - AND IS DELIVERED AT NO COST TO FAMILIES. DURING FY 2017-2018, 870 CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES RECEIVED EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES FROM EASTER SEALS EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA.

WORKING IN AN ORGANIC GARDEN, LEARNING TO COOK WITH WHAT YOU GROW, AND TYPICAL CAMP ACTIVITIES LIKE HIKING, CANOEING, ARTS AND CRAFTS, SWIMMING AND CAMPFIRE SONGS ROUND OUT THIS INNOVATIVE PROGRAM. DAY CAMPS - CAMP LILY BERKS AND CAMP LILY LEHIGH VALLEY ARE DAY CAMPS THAT RUN FOR 6 WEEKS EVERY SUMMER, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 9 A.M. TO 3 P.M. EASTER SEALS OFFERS SPANISH TRANSLATION AND HELPS FAMILIES MANAGE THEIR CHILD'S CARE. ORTHOTIC SPECIALISTS WHO CREATE CUSTOM ORTHOTIC BRACES FOR KIDS OF ALL AGES ALSO PROVIDE SERVICES IN OUR CENTER. AUTISM DIAGNOSTIC CLINICS ARE NOW OFFERED IN OUR READING LOCATION AS WELL. CHILDREN ARE REFERRED TO EASTER SEALS AND IN CONJUNCTION WITH STATE OF THE ART TELEMEDICINE TECHNOLOGY WITH CHOP, ARE TESTED BY EASTER SEALS PROFESSIONAL STAFF TRAINED IN AUTISM DIAGNOSTICS. DURING FY 2017-2018, 378 CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES RECEIVED SPECIALTY MEDICAL CARE SERVICES IN THE BERKS COUNTY AREA.

LEAP 2.0 (LEARN, EARN, ACHIEVE AND PRACTICE) PREPARES YOUTH WITH DISABILITIES, AGES 16-21 FOR A FULFILLING AND ENRICHING LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL. THIS GROUP-BASED SUMMER PROGRAM COMBINES CURRICULUM INSTRUCTION, SERVICE LEARNING AND PAID WORK EXPERIENCE TO HELP YOUTH DEVELOP THE WORK, LEADERSHIP AND LIFE SKILLS THEY NEED TO SUCCESSFULLY TRANSITION TO ADULT LIFE. IT IS OFFERED IN THE LEHIGH VALLEY AND BERKS COUNTY. DURING FY 2017-2018, EASTER SEALS PROVIDED CAREER PATHWAY SERVICES TO 43 CONSUMERS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

BRAIN DEVELOPMENT IS AT ITS PEAK DURING THIS PERIOD OF A CHILD'S LIFE, AND IDENTIFYING DEVELOPMENTAL DELAYS AND DISABILITIES IS PARAMOUNT IN ORDER TO INTERVENE WHEN THE MOST GOOD CAN BE DONE. PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS CAN ACCESS THE QUESTIONNAIRE ON OUR WEBSITE. RESULTS ARE REVIEWED BY OUR CHILD DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST WHO CONTACTS THE FAMILY WITH THE RESULTS AND RECOMMENDS NEXT STEPS. WE ALSO PARTNER WITH SEVERAL CHILD-SERVING ORGANIZATIONS TO PROVIDE ONSITE ASSESSMENTS, REFERRALS TO LOCAL RESOURCES, AND PROFESSIONAL TRAINING. DURING FY 2017-2018, EASTER SEALS PROVIDED 270 FAMILIES WITH CHILD DEVELOPMENTAL SCREENINGS.
