Sessions related to animal biology and physics at each school. Live animals and hands-on demonstrations involved students in creative ways that enhanced their understanding of the science principles and environmental issues that are incorporated into the curriculum that they have studied in their school-day classrooms. Post-test results indicated that ninety-two 90% had increased their understanding of the science concepts from pre-test levels. A) other organizations, including darlington art center and musicopia, provided arts and music, poetry and writing in innovative and engaging formats that stimulated lively discussion and active learning. B) chester education foundation offered the stc participants a variety of career preparation activities which included guest speakers from business and industry. Job readiness workshops were presented by a professional job developer and 65 students were placed in part-time jobs related to their career interests. C) during the summer of 2015, 140 students participated in the school-to- career, summer component at 3 college sites: widener university, delaware county community college (dccc) and pennsylvania institute of technology (pit). At each of the colleges, the focus was on stem as well as career exploration and college preparation. At dccc, for example, students participated in an advanced manufacturing program where they learned how to use various manufacturing technologies to make keychains, mobiles, and cell phone covers. At widener university, participants engaged in advanced academics in order to prepare for college level courses. At pit, students focused on computer-aided technologies including programming, robotics and 3-d printing. Health technologies are explored in a simulation lab where they learn about the diagnostic tools/processes used by allied health professionals. D) ninety percent (90%) improved their reading and math scores by at least one grade level.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4B

The blueprint for success program model is experiential and incorporates various work-based learning activities where students can practice what they are learning about in a simulated environment. Major innovative program components include: evidence-based cohort model, hybrid objective assessments, intensive leadership and character development, case management provided by our success team advisors, career exploration, and more. The success of our program relies on strategic partnerships with local organizations and companies committed to helping youth succeed: pa job corps, pa career link; delaware county community college; crozer keystone health system; the department of human services; wawa; mercy fitzgerald hospital; granite farms; davis vision; acme; tjx companies; manor care; pheaa; irs; american red cross; maris grove; youth valley house; arbys; riddle village; wsfs; harrah's casino and racetrack; septa; clarifi; td bank; power windows and remodeling; entrepreneurs kristin motley and dave rivell; chester city blog; the delco ctc network; united way of sepa; city of chester workforce development; elwyn, inc., and career consciousness.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4C

Results are analyzed and form the basis of a community-wide, strategic prevention plan which encourages the use of evidence-based programs to address priority risk factors. Through the ctc network, cef and other member organizations have provided more than 12 evidence-based prevention programs including: strengthening families; second step; functional family therapy; the incredible years and reconnecting youth. These programs have demonstrated positive results which are apparent in a comparison of pays data over time.
