To work with all existing agencies in the commonwealth of pa to prevent crime among juveniles and to rehabilitate said juveniles alleged or declared delinquent.

Pennsylvania has 67 counties. Each county has one vote (chief juvenile probation officer). All 67 counties paid dues so we have 67 members. In addition, the organization has approximately 35 associate members who do not have voting rights.

The organization refers to the general membership as the 67 county members. The only voting rights of the general membership is the vote for the four officer positions. The executive committee (which includes the four officers) is comprised of members from the 67 counties. This committee fluctuates in number at times, but is generally 23-24 members. Some decisions are taken and approved by the executive committee.

Line 1 briefly describe the organization's mission (continued): supervision, care and rehabilitation which provide balanced attention to the protection of the community, the imposition of accountability for offenses committed and the development of competencies to enable children to become responsible and productive members of the community. The pa council of chief juvenile probation officers dedicate ourselves to working in partnership to enhance the capacity of pennsylvania's juvenile justice system to achieve its balanced and restorative justice mission by: employing evidence-based practices, with fidelity, at every stage of the juvenile justice process; collecting and analyzing the data necessary to measure the results of these efforts; and with this knowledge, striving to continuously improve the quality or our decisions, services, and programs. The council encourages and supports ongoing education and training for probation officers and child servings staff. Council members suggest topics for the center for juvenile justice training and research annual training curriculum. Council members serve on the juvenile justice system enhancement strategy (jjses) leadership team to facilitate implementation and continuous quality improvement associated with jjses initiatives.

THE PA COUNCIL OF CHIEF JUVENILE PROBATION OFFICERS DEDICATE OURSELVES TO WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP TO ENHANCE THE CAPACITY OF PENNSYLVANIA'S JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM TO ACHIEVE ITS BALANCED AND RESTORATIVE JUSTICE MISSION BY: EMPLOYING EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES, WITH FIDELITY, AT EVERY STAGE OF THE JUVENILE JUSTICE PROCESS; COLLECTING AND ANALYZING THE DATA NECESSARY TO MEASURE THE RESULTS OF THESE EFFORTS; AND WITH THIS KNOWLEDGE, STRIVING TO CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE THE QUALITY OR OUR DECISIONS, SERVICES, AND PROGRAMS. THE COUNCIL ENCOURAGES AND SUPPORTS ONGOING EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOR PROBATION OFFICERS AND CHILD SERVINGS STAFF. COUNCIL MEMBERS SUGGEST TOPICS FOR THE CENTER FOR JUVENILE JUSTICE TRAINING AND RESEARCH ANNUAL TRAINING CURRICULUM. COUNCIL MEMBERS SERVE ON THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM ENHANCEMENT STRATEGY (JJSES) LEADERSHIP TEAM TO FACILITATE IMPLEMENTATION AND CONTINUOUS QUALITY IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATED WITH JJSES INITIATIVES.
