“The 990 Return is reviewed by the School Director before filing. At the subsequent meeting of the Board of Directors, a copy of the return is made available for members to review. As a standard policy, copies of all 990 returns are on file in the school office.”

“At the first fiscal year meeting of the Board of Directors each September, the "Conflict of Interest" policy is reviewed with an opportunity for members to discuss and disclose possible conflicts. The Board of Directors Executive Committee monitors compliance throughout the school year.”

“To set the salary for the new School Director, the Board surveyed salaries listed for local comparable positions on job search websites such as Indeed, then negotiated the final salary with the selected candidate.”

In addition, all 990 Returns are kept on file in the school office, and any other financial statements are made available by the school treasurer upon request.”

“In April FY21, we invoiced parents for FY22 tuition. These invoices were moved into FY22 on July 1. After Form 990 was filed on 2/21/2023, we realized several FY22 students had dropped out, but the entry moving FY21 invoices had not been updated. A subsequent review of all information in the return also revealed that one month of FY22 benefits had been incorrectly charged to FY21, and there were several uncashed checks that were voided. Tuition invoices are now sent in the actual school year so that student cancellations do not affect the prior year.”
