“The form 990 is distributed to the entire board of directors for review. After the board unanimously accepts the form 990, it is filed with the internal revenue service.”

“Board and staff members read the leadership york code of conduct their first year of service, then annually thereafter. They fill out and sign a form annually, indicating they have read the code of conduct and disclosed of any potential conflicts of interest they may have. This form is reviewed by the board president and kept at the leadership york office.”

“A written review of the executive director is performed annually. The board president receives written input from board members, compiles the input, then meets with the executive director to share results. Annual performance goals are developed by the executive director in consultation with the executive committee. Data on other nonprofit executive director rates is obtained from guidestar - we look at small york county nonprofits and track them in an excel spreadsheet - the executive committee reviews this along with performance evaluation to determine annual compensation for the executive director.”

“Leadership york's mission is to train, connect and inspire individuals to serve the york community in leadership positions. Leadership york has been developing community leaders since 1978. Comprehensive training is provided to adults and teenagers who want to make a difference. Graduates display enhanced leadership skills underpinned by a broad awareness of the community's strength's and weaknesses. Leadership york is a strong nonprofit organization with a proven track record and a continuing need for its services. Leadership york programs not only benefit the course participants (approximately 3,700 graduates to date), but strengthen the 250+ nonprofit organizations where graduates serve on their boards and committees, enabling these organizations to provide high quality valuable services that meet community needs.”

“Leadership for diverse schools - a 9-month course that enables york county educators and school administrators to respond more effectively to diverse student and parent populations. Graduates are able to transform their classrooms, schools, and districts into culturally competent communities. The class of 2019 successfully graduated 32 individuals. Executive connections - a five-session introduction to york county for senior-level executives new to the community or new to their executive role. Every year about 25 professionals use this course to jump-start their understanding of and involvement in the community. The class of 2019 successfully graduated 18 individuals. Mentorship york - allows emerging leaders the chance to meet with reputable leaders in an intimate setting; asking questions or simply listening to their advice of how to be successful. Established leaders look forward to connecting with these ambitious young people to share their experiences because they want to ensure the future of york is led by successful men and women who remember the heritage of our area. Up to twelve highly qualified professionals who are pursuing key leadership roles in their business and the community are selected annually and matched with a mentor specifically chosen for them from the broad range of community leaders in york county. Donated equipment is recorded at the estimated fair value in the period received. In-kind contributions consisted of 30,600 for rent of their office building and 7,000 for payroll and bookkeeping services.”
