Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization accounts for uncertainty in income taxes in accordance with fasb-asc 740, which prescribes a recognition threshold of more-likely-than-not to be sustained upon by examination by the appropriate taxing authority. Measurement of the uncertainty occurs if the recognition threshold has not been met. The organization believes it has appropriate support for all tax positions taken and has concluded that there are no material unrecognized tax liability, benefits or accrued interest or penalties on income taxes that would require recognition in the financial statements. The organization has filed federal information returns in the united states. The returns for the years ended june 30,2016,2015 and 2014 remain subject to examination by taxing authorities generally for three years after they were filed.

IN ADDITION, PLACEMENT SERVICES INCLUDES KINSHIP CARE PERMANENCY SERVICES. ALL SERVICES HAVE SPECIFIC OUTCOME EXPECTATIONS FOR CHILD SAFETY, PLACEMENT STABILITY, PERMANENCY, AND WELL-BEING. THROUGHOUT FY 2015/2016, 138 CHILDREN AND YOUTH WERE SERVED IN PLACEMENT SERVICES; HOWEVER, THE AVERAGE DAILY CENSUS FOR FOSTER CARE SERVICES WAS 48 CHILDREN/YOUTH.PINEBROOK FAMILY ANSWERS HAS BEEN A LONG-STANDING AFFILIATE OF THE STATEWIDE ADOPTION AND PERMANENCY NETWORK (SWAN), A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT AMONG PUBLIC AND PRIVATE CHILD- AND FAMILY-SERVING AGENCIES THROUGHOUT THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA TO EXPEDITE THE ADOPTIONS OF SPECIAL-NEEDS CHILDREN AND YOUTH. THE AGENCY ALSO OFFERS SELECT SERVICES (COMPLETION OF HOME STUDIES AND POST-ADOPTION SERVICES) FOR TRADITIONAL DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL ADOPTION SERVICES. DURING FY 2015/2016, THE AGENCY ASSISTED 166 SWAN-RELATED FAMILIES TO PREPARE FOR ADOPTION; 17 CHILDREN ACHIEVED PERMANENCY AND WERE WELCOMED INTO THEIR FOREVER FAMILIES.

DURING FY 2015/2016, THE AGENCY ASSISTED 122 SENIORS IN THE HOMECARE PROGRAM.FORENSIC SERVICES - THE AGENCY PROVIDES A VARIETY OF REENTRY SERVICES TO ADULTS AND YOUTH IN LEHIGH AND NORTHAMPTON COUNTIES. THE AGENCY CONTRACTS WITH THE NORTHAMPTON COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS TO PROVIDE ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF SUPPORT FOR THE NORTHAMPTON COUNTY JAIL AND THE RE-ENTRY COALITION, AND STRATEGIC PLANNING FOR THE NORTHAMPTON COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS. ADDITIONAL STAFF FACILITATES EVIDENCE-BASED COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL PROGRAMMING AND PARENTING EDUCATION CLASSES TO ADULTS INCARCERATED IN NORTHAMPTON COUNTY. THE TRANSITIONAL RESIDENCE PROGRAM IN A HOUSING PROGRAM FOR WOMEN AND THEIR MINOR CHILDREN WHO ARE SEEKING HOUSING STABILITY. THE PROGRAM AVERAGES ONE YEAR IN LENGTH AND PROVIDES INTENSIVE SERVICES TO PREPARE THE WOMEN TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY UPON COMPLETION. DURING FY 2015/2016, 667 INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED SERVICES THROUGH THE FORENSIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT.
