Financial Statement Notes

Part V, Line 4:

The Board intends to create a perpetual fund for the purpose of providing a steady stream of funding for the long term benefit of the Agency. It is the intention of the Board of Directors to retain the principal of the DAP Endowment Fund in perpetuity such that the principal is not spent unless authorized by the Board of Directors. This action is taken by the Board for the following purposes: (1) to provide permanent income to the Agency and its mission through a source of investment income for future growth; (2) to diversify revenue sources, reduce dependency upon public funding sources, and provide a financial "nimbleness" that fuels innovation, service quality and growth; and (3) to demonstrate a commitment to the Agency's long term financial stability.

Part X, Line 2:

The Agency is exempt from federal income taxes under provisions of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The tax returns of the Agency for fiscal years 2013, 2014 and 2015 are subject to examination by federal and state taxing authorities, generally for three years after they were filed.
