Additional Explanations

Form 990, Part III, Line 2

In march 2020, the organization added an outpatient behavioral health program that works with children ages 3 to 20 with a variety of mental health diagnoses. Each child has an individualized treatment plan designed to effectively meet the specific goals of the child and family. In addition to individual sessions, our therapists provide parent/caregiver, sibling, family, and group therapy sessions. Play and other treatment modalities are incorporated into the session to encourage communication, self-expression, and learning towards designated goals to practice new skills in a fun and playful environment.

Form 990, Part III, Line 3

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the organization implemented telehealth services for all therapy services, closed circle of friends academy (cofa) from 3/16/20 until 6/8/20, held stars preschool virtually from 3/16/20 until the end of the school year, replaced the typical summer rec program with a virtual camp, cancelled the annual easter egg hunt and many club 625 events, and put respite services and swim lessons on hold.

Management evaluated the tax positions taken and concluded that the center had taken no uncertain tax positions that require recognition or disclosure in the financial statements. Therefore, no provision or liability for income taxes has been included in the financial statements. With few exceptions, the center is no longer subject to income tax examinations by the u.s. Federal, state, or local tax authorities for years ending before june 30, 2017.
