“Individuals must be a doctor of osteopathy (d.o.) and hold an active license to become a member. Retired doctors may become life members. Poma has the following membership categories: active, out-of-state, first year in practice, intern, resident, and fellowship.”

Voting members are eligible to vote and hold membership in the house of delegates or on the board of trustees, or to hold office in the association. Voting members are: active members; honorary life members who reside and/or practice in pa; life members who reside and/or practice in pa; members of the life members club who reside and/or practice in pa; military members who are stationed in pa; and first-year practice members in pa.”

“The accounting firm prepares the form 990 following board approval of the organization's financial statements and reviews the information with management prior to filing. The form 990 is uploaded to the organization's website portal for board members' access before the return is filed with the irs.”

Family and business relationships are expressly mentioned in the policy as well. The executive director monitors the policy throughout the year. If a conflict is determined to exist, the interested party refrains from involvement in decisions related to the conflict.”
