“The regular members of the association shall be such industrial employers whose primary business is manufacturing in york county, pennsylvania, or nearby communities, as may be admitted by the board of directors. By unanimous vote, the board of directors may also elect to membership, an employer that does not fully meet the foregoing requirements, but whose membership is considered to further the interests of the association. Associate members of the association shall be such other employers or individuals in york county, pennsylvania, or nearby counties, as may be admitted by the board of directors. Service to members shall vary according to membership classifications and as may be specifically determined by the board of directors. In general, however, all services and functions of the association will be available to regular members, whereas only special services as defined by the board of directors will be available to associate members. Associate members will have no voting priviliges and will not be eligible for the board of directors or association committees.”

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

“The association is a not-for-profit organization exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(6) of the internal revenue code and applicable state regulations. Accordingly, no provision for federal or state income taxes has been recorded in the financial statements. Income from activities not directly related to the association's tax-exempt purpose is subject to tax as unrelated business income. Adjustments, if any, for uncertain tax positions would be recorded as a liability. The association would also recognize accruals for interest and penalties related to uncertain tax positions in its interest expense. The association files federal and state tax returns and is no longer subject to examinations by tax authorities for years before december 31, 2021.”
