“The organization's bylaws were updated in february 2025. Significant updates were as follows: 1. Changed corporate name and office address. 2.revised pillar's mission and vision statements to mirror the approved strategic report language. 3.conformed terminology and definitions used throughout the by-laws to avoid ambiguity or other language conflicts. 4.removed obsolete language (such as notices by telegrams and wires, and bond requirement). 5. Changed name of committee leads from vice chair to chairs. 6. Cross-referenced by-law numbers and names where necessary, for ease of reference and to eliminate confusion. 7. Clarified the duties of the secretary and treasurer. 8. Clarified voting procedures for meetings and other official actions covering member elections and member removal. 9. Enhanced oversight of business expenses and charitable giving. 10.defined what actions executive committee can take between regular board meetings, what notice needs to be provided to other board members before such actions can be taken, and what information must be shared with other board members by the executive committee to keep them timely informed of actions taken by the executive committee. 11. Strengthened conflict of interest language. 12. Article x, section 2: a. Now it provides electronic signatures. Cfo signs check if ceo is payee on the check. Two authorized signature requirements deleted. 13. Article iv ("officers"), section 1 ("officers"): the committee chairs no longer listed as "officers". 14. Article v ("committees of the board"), section 1 ("general provisions"): the second paragraph has been amended to include the chairs of 4 standing committees of the board. The third paragraph has been amended to provide that the 4 standing committee chairs shall be appointed by the chair of the board (as contrasted from being selected by the governance committee). 15. Article x ("contracts, checks, deposits and gifts"): the purchase dollar thresholds have been increased from $50,000 to $100,000.”

“After the first draft of the form 990 is received from the cpa's, cfo and controller check if the non-financial data (name, address, mission) is correct; then compare the financial data to the audited financial statements. If necessary, they will provide updates to the information. Cfo and controller review the draft independently, discuss the form, and send back the form to the auditors with their questions. After the second draft is completed, cfo and controller review it a second time and then send it over to a volunteer and former board member, who is a retired cpa, and he reviews the form. His question then will be sent to the cpa's. Once all questions are answered to management's satisfaction, the final draft 990 form is presented to the board for approval before filing.”
