“The membership of the Organization consists of eight classes: Active, Trainee, Inactive, Junior, Active Associate, Associate, Honorary, and Fire Police. Only Active members have the right to vote, including voting in the annual election of officers.”

“Active members have the right to vote to elect the members of the governing body of the Organization. Active members must live within a reasonable distance of Sea Girt in order to be able to respond to calls. All requirements for membership will be as stated in applicable New Jersey and Municipal laws and regulations. Active members shall have successfully completed twelve months of Trainee Status as prescribed by the Chief and outlined in Section Three of the Bylaws; or shall have served two consecutive years of prior satisfactory service as an Active Member of Sea Girt Fire Company No. 1, or as a volunteer or paid firefighter.”

“The Organization has no committee with the authority to act on behalf of the governing body. Therefore there is no contemporaneous documentation of any meetings of such a committee.”

“The Treasurer receives and reviews the Form 990 and presents it to the President. The financial statements and the Form 990 are made available to all members of the Fire Company at the next monthly meeting.”

“The Organization does not compensate any officers or employees. The Organization is run by all volunteers. Therefore there is no process for determining compensation.”

“The Organization makes its governing documents and financial statements available to the public upon request.”
