Primary project/core civic agricultural mission is to grow local food. Most of the food is farmed collectively with @60 volunteers throughout the growing season. In 2024 there were also 6 gardeners with individual plots. Most of the produce is taken home by volunteers and given to food pantries. Neighbors in need forage some.

The nutrition kitchen grant covered much of the gardens operating expenses before 6/30/2024. In addition it covered the expenses of 2 youth interns to learn about growing food and 4 local chefs to do cooking demonstrations using the produce grown in the gardens, attended by @75 people who also sampled the dishes created.

Flower shares is an attempt to create a social enterprise to raise income for operating expenses. It is subscription based, where customers pay a fee and get so many flower deliveries over the course of the growing season, similar to csa for food. 2024 was the second year for this project.
