The organization provides logistical support to parents seeking to navigate government bureaucracy and red tape blocking their access to needed funding. One day at a time also provides sib shops, which are workshops to help siblings cope and learn to deal with special needs siblings. They organize retreats and gatherings for the parents to facilitate networking and arrange other get-togethers to bring the special needs community together. Batya is a youth group for girls by girls - a place to socialize, meet jewish friends, get involved in community projects, participate in exciting activities and learn jewish values and traditions. Gmach abg provides grants to an international outfit that provides discounted below-wholesale cost foods to indigents and sometimes distributes food for free to those that can't even afford the below cost price. The gmach also will make periodic cash grants to indigents requiring urgent assistance.”
