IRS990/Desc0In 2015-2016, the Charter School had served 1,315 students through its prekindergarted to 12th grade curriculum and seamless educational experience from "crayons to college." During the year, the Charter School under took major initiatives in order for our village to continue to achieve its high levels of excellence: Improved student achievement by advancing the intervention programs for testing and student support services in math and English Language Arts (ELA), and through teacher evaluation and effectiveness practices with effective coaching and feedback models. The Charter School consolidated the high school grades 9-12 in one newly constructed facility at 125 Sussex Ave. for the operation of the high school. As a result, over 500 students in grades 9-12 were house in the new facility. It also developed a culinary and performing arts theme for the high school. This resulted in focusing on developing a comprehensive culinary program and hiring of three chefs to develop curriculum around culinary. It also undertook aperformance based retention and renewal for staff based upon data and review for underperforming staff. This resulted in a large turnover and intensive plan which included building capacity with an outside agency. for its organization capacity building, its Board of Trustees began succssion and sustainability planning during the year, which included granting approval to management to hire a Director of Operations. During the year also, the Charter School had expanded its Community Partnership Building by forging new partnerships with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield for sponsorship of the Culinary labs at the High School, among others.
