“Metuchen Board of Education - "Second Grade Theater Week, Better than Broadway"”

“Campbell School, Better than Broadway Productions is a week -long theater program that the entire second grade participates in. Over the course of four two-hour sessions, the students learn an original musical production that teaches lessons about cooperation, kindness, acceptance and anti-bullying. On the final day of the program, two performances are held, one for parents, and one for every student in grades 1st, 3rd and 4th, so that the entire Campbell Elementary School benefits from this grant. “Metuchen High School, The Music programs in the Metuchen School district are growing. This grant provides two trombones to the Metuchen High School Jazz Band programs to support the three high school level Jazz bands for different levels of student: Jazz Band, Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Lab. “Moss School, This grant provides two lighted tables and assorted lighted manipulative items to support literacy and mathematical concept development. “Metuchen High School, This grant will provide a Glowforge laser cutter/printer for the Edgar Middle School students who are in the engineering and design and construction classes, as well as art classes. This will allow students to enhance the design process, building and embellishments of their projects in all these classes. This will expand and enhance the design and execution skills the students will gain. All students in the 7th and 8th grades at Edgar Middle School will benefit from this grant. ($1,300)”
