Referrals are made to other service providers such as education/training programs and job placement services. Limited wrap around expenses such as bus passes, birth certificates, vouchers to Salvation Army for used clothing/furniture and identification. Continued on Schedule OAttendance is required at a minimum of two Monday night workshops for enrollment in LAP services. Some exceptions are made. Most women will be required to attend a Women's workshop prior to enrollment. A total of 515 women and men were served.This program is primarily supported through contributions.

These trainings are offered each year in September, January MLK Day and April. In 2016, 49 mentors assisted 92 women and men exiting the Monroe Correctional Facility. Participants received support services and monthly home visits and referrals to a variety of other agencies and provided to these participants. Some wrap around services such as bus passes, security deposits, emergency funds for back rent were provided.JPC also provides supportive services, educates the public and advocates necessary changes to the criminal justice system.

In general, guidelines for monitoring use of grant funds in the United States are; (1) JPC (Judicial Process Commission) Mentor Coordinator meets program candidates in jail to review New Journey program and requirements, to screen clients, to administer risk assessment tool, and to locate and assign mentor. (2) After meeting with program candidates in jail and JPC Mentor Coordinator locates and assigns mentor; mentors visit women in jail and maintain relationship with those who continue with JPC post release; Mentor Coordinator also recruits, trains and supports mentors. (3) JPC staff meets with client to identify housing needs, reviews housing lists and landlord contacts, visits housing /apartments with client, supplies security deposit, first month's rent as funds allow; assist with restoring utility services, ensures welfare case is open. (4) JPC staff assists clients with reentry plan for needed services and collaborate with client to identify needed services for mother and children; provides telephone call or letter to referral source; transports client and children or provides bus passes; communicates with provider staff for updates. (5) Project staff help women stabilize (i.e., obtain housing, addiction treatment, used furniture, appliances, counseling, referrals to parenting classes) so they can reunite with their children; and involve legal services in family reunification.
