Founded in 1989, YSP simultaneously provides housing, education, childcare, counseling, and job & life-skills training to nearly 400 individuals each year that allows them to begin their journey out of poverty toward a life of self-sufficiency.The mission of the York Street Project (YSP) is to weave innovative programs that shelter, feed, educate and promote the healing and independence of persons in need, especially women, children and families.

York street project provides housing, child care, counseling, case management, life skills, and career development to nearly 400 women and children each year allowing them to begin their journey towards a life of self-sufficiency.

Classes of members or stockholders- the filing organization has one class of members. As per the bylaws, the sole member of the filing organization is peace ministries, inc., a nonprofit corporation of the state of new jersey.

Election of members and their rights- the member of the filing organization has the power to appoint and to remove, with or wothout cause, the trustees and the officers of the filing organization.

Decisions subject to approval of members the following are reserved exclusively to the board of trustees of the member, peace ministries, inc., some of which require the further approval of its sole member, the congregation leader and council of the canonical entity known as the congregation of sister of st. Joseph of peace: 1) to determine or change the mission and philosophy 2) to amend, alter, or repeal the articles of incorporation and the bylaws 3) to purchase, sell, transfer, lease or encumber real property, or substantially all of the assets of the filling organization 4) to add, terminate, merge, consolidate, affiliate, divide, or seperate substantial programs from the filing organization and/or to merge consolidate, or affiliate the filing organization with any other corporation or organization 5) to dissolve and to determine the distribution of assets upon dissolution 6) to enter into new borrowings and to renegotiate, modify or otherwise change existing debt obligations in excess of 15% of the net assets 7) to form a subsidiary organization, joint venture, partnership, or any other affiliation arrangement 8) to manage, acquire, or sponsor any institution, corporation, organization, facillity or entity 9) to appoint and remove, with or without cause, the executive director. Each trustee present at a meeting shall be entitled to one (1) vote on each matter submitted to a vote of the member. Once a quorum is attained, all business and affairs of the member shall be transacted by a majority vote of those present.

York street project currently has in place a conflict of interest policy which is regularly monitored and enforced. The board mandates that all members of management and the governing body annually sign a conflict of interest policy and disclose any potential or actual conflicts that may exist. If a potential or actual conflict of interest exists, the governing body and management will investigate the issue. If a conflict of interest is determined to exist, management and the governing body will be notified immediately. The member will not be allowed to vote or be a part of any decisions about any such transactions that have to do with the conflict until such time that there is no longer a conflict.

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization is a not-for-profit organization that is exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and, accordingly, is not liable for federal and state income taxes. The organization follows standards that provide clarification on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in the organization's financial statements. The guidance prescribes a recognition threshold and measurement attribute for the recognition and measurement of a tax position taken or expected to be taken in a tax return, and also provides guidance on de-recognition, classification, interest and penalties, disclosure and transition. The organization's policy is to recognize interest and penalties on unrecognized tax benefits in income tax expense. No interest and penalties were recorded during 2024. At june 30, 2024 there are no significant income tax uncertainties.

OUR HYBRID PROGRAM PROVIDES UP TO 3-12 MONTHS OF ON-SITE TRADITIONAL HOUSING AND ADDITIONAL 12-24 MONTHS OF OFFSITE SUBSIDIZED HOUSING WITH CONTINUED WRAP AROUND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR HOMELESS FAMILIES AND OUR PATHWAYS MATERNITY GROUP HOME OFFERS 18 MONTHS OF TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FOR HOMELESS AND/OR RUNAWAY YOUTH WHO ARE PREGNANT AND/OR PARENTING. FOR THOSE HOMELESS FAMILIES COMING TO US WITH FEWER BARRIERS, WE ASSIST THEM THROUGH OUR RAPID REHOUSING PROGRAM, WHICH PROVIDES UP TO 24 MONTHS OF RENTAL ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT SERVICES. ALL OF OUR HOUSING PROGRAMS INCLUDE INTENSIVE, WRAP AROUND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES, INCLUDING (BUT NOT LIMITED TOO) CRISIS INTERVENTION, CASE MANAGMENT AND MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT, PARENTING SUPPORT, EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING SUPPORT, HOUSEHOLD MANAGMENT, FAMILY BUDGETING, LIFE SKILLS TRAINING, AND REFERRALS FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELING AND HEALTH EDUCATION.
