To improve the prevention, diagnosis, and management of patients withvascular disease by promoting clinical and basic research; providingcontinuing education; developing post-graduate training; advocating onbehalf of members; promoting the development and implementation of newtechnology; promoting and facilitating the dissemination of knowledgeand information to practitioners, patients, and the public;standardizing nomenclature and reporting of vascular conditions;developing practice statements and guidelines; and addressing relatedsocial, economic, ethical, and legal issues.

To promote vascular health through advancing science & practice of vascular disease management.

Financial Statement Notes

PART V, LINE 4:

Svs maintains one endowment fund, known as the haimovici endowment fund. The fund was endowed with a corpus of $225,000 and was estalished to exclusively support and honor international work and study in the field of vascular surgery.

PART X, LINE 2:

The society is organized as a (illinois) tax-exempt corporation as defined by section 501(c)(6) of the internal revenue code. The society is subject to income taxes on unrelated business activities which includes unrelated business income earned from hosting a career database link on the society website. Income tax expense for the years ended march 31, 2019 and 2018 was $57,058 and $9,179, respectively. The pso, as a sole member limited liability company, is a disregarded entity for income tax purposes. The organization follows the requirements for accounting for uncertain tax positions. The organization has determined that it is not required to record a liability related to uncertain tax positions as of march 31, 2019 and 2018.
