The owning corporation is owned and operated exclusively for charitable, not-for-profit purposes. In prior year, the internal revenue service issued its determination letter reflecting that easthampton housing for the elderly, inc. Is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. The corporation has also been classified as an entity that is not a private foundation within the meaning of section 509(a)(2) and qualifies for deductible contributions as provided in section 170(b)(1)(a)(vi). Therefore, no income tax provisions have been included in the financial statements.
