The nutrition parenting program provides families with opportunities to interact with each other through discussion and activities which involve the entire family. We provide a neutral place for families to discuss issues and solve problems in a safe environment.

The council is a nonprofit organization that is exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(3) and is classified by the internal revenue service as other than a private foundation. The council follows the recognition requirements for uncertain income tax positions as required by generally accepted accounting principles. Income tax benefits are recognized for income tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return, only when it is determined that the income tax position will more-likely-than-not be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. The organization has analyzed tax positions taken for filing with the internal revenue service and all state jurisdictions where it operates. The organization believes that income tax filing positions will be sustained upon examination and does not anticipate any adjustments that would result in a material adverse effect on the organization's financial condition, results of operations or cash flows. Accordingly, the organization has not recorded any reserves, or related accruals for interest and penalties for uncertain income tax positions at december 31, 2015. The council is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress. The organization believes it is no longer subject to income tax examinations for years prior to 2012. The organization's policy is to classify income tax related interest and penalties in interest expense and other expenses, respectively.

THESE PROGRAMS ARE A K-12 RESEARCH BASED PREVENTION PROGRAM THAT ADDRESSES A WIDE RANGE OF VIOLENT BEHAVIOR IN STUDENTS-FROM BULLYING AND VERBAL AGGRESSION IN THE EARLY GRADES THROUGH FIGHTING AND SOCIAL EXCLUSION AT MIDDLE GRADES TO RELATIONSHIP ABUSE AND ASSAULTS THAT CAN OCCUR IN LATER GRADES. THE GOUVERNEUR FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER IS A FAMILY-FOCUSED PROGRAM AND FACILITATES THE PARENTS' ABILITY TO SERVE AS RESOURCES TO EACH OTHER, TO PARTICIPATE IN PROGRAMMING OF THE CENTER, TO PROVIDE GUIDANCE FOR THE PROGRAM AND TO ADVOCATE FOR THEMSELVES IN THE BROADER COMMUNITY. THE NUTRITION PARENTING PROGRAM PROVIDES FAMILIES WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO INTERACT WITH EACH OTHER THROUGH DISCUSSION AND ACTIVITIES WHICH INVOLVE THE ENTIRE FAMILY.
