WE OPERATE IN PUBLIC, CHARTER, AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN ALL THREE COUNTIES AS WELL AS A SMALL NUMBER OF COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS THAT SERVE YOUTH.DELAWARE WOLF TRAP (DWT) DELAWARE WOLF TRAP EARLY LEARNING THROUGH THE ARTS (DWT) BRINGS WOLF TRAP TRAINED TEACHING ARTISTS (TA) INTO THE EARLY CHILDHOOD CLASSROOM TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN ARTS INTEGRATION FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS AND THEIR STUDENTS AGES 3-5. THE TEACHER SELECTS A MATH OR LITERACY FOCUS AND AN ART FOCUS (MUSIC, DANCE, OR DRAMA). THE RESIDENCIES ARE 16-SESSIONS AND TEACHERS RECEIVE 12 PROFESSIONAL CREDIT HOURS AT THE COMPLETION OF THE RESIDENCY. THEY LEARN ARTS-INTEGRATED STRATEGIES TO SUPPORT FOUNDATIONAL LEARNING IN LITERACY AND MATH AND SOCIAL EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT. DWT IS ONE OF 27 NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL AFFILIATES OF THE WOLF TRAP INSTITUTE FOR EARLY LEARNING THROUGH THE ARTS BASED IN VIENNA, VA. WE ARE THE ONLY PROVIDER OF THIS PROGRAM IN THE STATE. WE HAVE ADMINISTERED THIS PROGRAM FOR 26 YEARS.ACADEMIC SCHOOL YEAR 2024 - 2025, DIAE DELIVERED 13 DELAWARE WOLF TRAP RESIDENCIES IN SCHOOLS AND 11 FAMILY PROGRAMS IN NEW CASTLE AND SUSSEX COUNTIES. THE MAJORITY OF OUR DELAWARE WOLF TRAP PROGRAMS WERE CONDUCTED AT SCHOOLS SERVING LOW INCOME FAMILIES AND WITH A MAJORITY MINORITY STUDENT POPULATION.K-12 ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCY PROGRAMDIAE'S K-12 ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM IS MODELED AFTER THE LINCOLN CENTER INSTITUTE FOR ARTS IN EDUCATION THAT BRINGS PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS AND PERFORMANCE GROUPS INTO DELAWARE SCHOOLS. THE PARTNER CLASSROOM TEACHER SELECTS A CULMINATING FOCUSED ART EXPERIENCE, SUCH AS A LIVE PERFORMANCE OR EXHIBITION. THE TEACHING ARTIST WORKS WITH THE STUDENTS AND TEACHER TO EXPLORE AN ART FORM IN A 3-DAY RESIDENCY THAT HELPS THEM UNDERSTAND AND PRACTICE THE CREATIVE DECISION MAKING OF THE ARTISTS IN THE FOCUSED ART EXPERIENCE.
